Family Photography in Sevenoaks: Another Relaxed Photoshoot at Knole Park

There’s something truly special about spending a few hours wandering through Knole Park in Sevenoaks, camera in hand, capturing natural moments as they unfold. Every visit feels a little different, but it always delivers beautiful light, stunning backdrops, and plenty of space for families to relax and be themselves. It’s one of the many reasons Knole Park remains one of my favourite locations for family photography in Sevenoaks.

On this particular day, we took our time exploring some of my most-loved corners of the park. From wide open green spaces to quieter, tucked‑away paths, Knole Park offers an incredible variety of settings that work perfectly for relaxed, natural photography. The scale of the park means children can run, explore, and play freely, which always leads to genuine smiles and laughter rather than forced poses.

Why Knole Park Is Perfect for Photography in Sevenoaks

Knole Park is a dream location for photography thanks to its mix of open landscapes, historic features, and changing seasonal colours. Over the years, I’ve discovered a few favourite spots that I’m always drawn back to. The ‘hidden’ yet photogenic steps, the characterful old walls (I have two favourite walls in the park), and the beautiful tree‑lined avenue leading to Knole House all create timeless backdrops that never feel repetitive.

These natural features allow for a wide variety of images in a single session, making Knole Park ideal for families who want a full gallery of images that feel cohesive yet varied. Whether it’s golden autumn tones, fresh spring greens, or soft summer light, the park always complements the relaxed style of photography I aim to create.

Natural, Story Led Family Photography

My approach to family photography in Sevenoaks is all about keeping things natural and enjoyable. I encourage families to walk, talk, laugh, and interact with each other rather than worrying about the camera. Children don’t need instructions to have fun here, and that freedom shows in the final images.

While children are often the stars of the show, I always like to include parents in the photographs too. Unless someone is particularly camera‑shy, I’ll gently encourage a few relaxed shots of the whole family together. After all, it shouldn’t be just photos of the children on your walls when the session is finished — these images are about telling the story of your family as it is right now.

A Timeless Location for Family Photos in Kent

If you’re looking for a location that combines natural beauty, space to explore, and a calm atmosphere, Knole Park is hard to beat. It’s one of the standout spots for photography in Sevenoaks and a location I’m always happy to recommend to families who want authentic, timeless images that don’t feel staged or rushed.

Every session here is a reminder of why I love photographing families in Sevenoaks and across Kent — great light, wonderful locations, and real moments that families can look back on for years to come.
